About Me
Mie Inada is a Tokyo born and based artist. She has built a career in advertising and public relations and began her artistic activities using photography in earnest after graduating from Kyoto University of the Arts (B.F.A.) with an award of excellence in 2017.
She uses the medium of photography to express her uneasiness and doubts about society that arise from her everyday life. For this reason, her main shooting locations and/or themes of her work are closely related to her daily living area. She is concerned with unmanifested or forgotten truths. She emphasizes tranquility and simplicity of expression, despite the controversial photographic subjects.
In 2018, she was selected for a solo exhibition in Epson's Open Call by Keizo Kitajima (photographer) and Miho Odaka (curator), and hold a solo exhibition titled “Listening to the Whispers of Drosophila”. In 2023, her solo exhibition “INCOMING MESSAGE” was held at Reminders Photography Stronghold and an artist book with the same title was published. In 2024, her dummy book “INCOMING MESSAGE” was shortlisted for the Luma Rencontres Dummy Book Award Arles 2024 (France), Singapore International Photography Festival 2024 Dummy Photobook Award (Singapore), Athens Photo Festival 2026 Dummy Award (Greece).
